Reduction of Operational Vibrations of Main Steam Lines

From 2006 - 2008 the Institute of Applied Mechanics Brno developed a new methodical procedure for designing the reduction of operational vibrations of main steam lines of VVER 1000MW power plants. The new methodical procedure has been experimentally tested under operating states of power stations. The methodology has been used in practice to reduce operational vibrations in the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant in the Czech Republic, in the Volgodonsk Nuclear Power Plant (Rostov) and the Balakovska Nuclear Power Plant in Russia. Total 11 steam lines have been reconstructed, out of which 9 in Russia.

Participation of the Institute of Applied Mechanics in Designing a New Kammprofile Gasket

OceněníThe Institute of Applied Mechanics participated in designing a new kammprofile gasket (strength and tightness analyses of flange joints, Ing. Lička) for the main circulation pump of the primary circuit VVER 440 MW, the Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant.

The project ranked second and received the Nuclear Maintenance Excellence Award in the NUMEX Trophy international competition in maintenance of nuclear power plants (Nuclear Maintenance Experience Exchange – an international association of engineers working in the field of nuclear power plants maintenance) in 2006 (Prague, 9 March 2006).
